interesting day

Well, yesterday goes down in history in our household as one of the craziest days ever! I really only had conversations with my SIL and my best friend, and they both had insane days too!! First off, my poor nephew (3) managed to get his head caught in a high-speed ceiling fan :-( He had to be taken to the ER for staples, so I took care of the rest of the kiddos, plus a little one they've been watching. The weather was very severe yesterday and I think that turned on the hyper button in the two youngest and they were bouncing off the walls and furniture (literally). Well, my SIL had dinner prepared already, so we enjoyed her yummy crock pot tamale pie ;-) She's a genius when it comes to cooking. While I was serving-up everyone's plates, Joshua managed to tip his chair back (while strapped into his booster seat) and land his noggin on some trim we had propped up on the wall to be used later in our bedroom. I'm thankful the trim was there to cushion his fall...the floor would've been much worse. While I quickly grabbed him to make sure he too hadn't split his head open, the kids were all voicing concerns for him and the tornado sirens went-off. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I ran to the TV with Joshua in my arms; thankfully the tornados weren't anywhere near us *whew* However, it was right by my parents house!! Well, my parents weren't home, but they were at a car dealership nearby getting a new car (since my dad totalled their other one). Later, my mom called and told me that the tornado was right over them!! Everyone at the dealership had to take cover inside the building. Thankfully the building is a really solid structure! Mom said she dove into the women's rest room and covered her head underneath a bench. She said all she could think of was not being here for me and Jenna when she arrives *sniff* I felt so loved, but I had to laugh because I can just see my mom huddled underneath a bench! *hehe*

Anyway...what a day! I'm glad it's over and I'm excited to go to my OB/GYN appointment today. I also have a NST which I'm anxious to have done. I'm a little worried because I really didn't feel Jenna move yesterday afternoon/evening. I think she was stressed right along with me.

joshua...the big-boy

Well, Joshua has been sleeping in his toddler bed in his big-boy room since Saturday night and it's amazing how well he has taken to it!! I think a lot of thanks goes to his cousin, Abby, for showing him how fun it is. She came over, bathed him, and then read books and played with toys in his bed. He had a blast!! Of course, Joshua thinks Abby is the cream-of-the-crop. He always fusses and hollers when she leaves. I'll post pictures soon.

Sunday night, I noticed Joshua was running a slight fever. I attributed it to teething since he has been getting some new ones, but I noticed on Monday he was favoring his left ear. Well, low and behold, Monday night, he threw-up in his bed and then the following morning threw-up his Tylenol :-( Poor little buddy was a miserable mess. We spent a ton of time cuddling and just being lazy bums together on the couch. Thankfully, he's feeling much better today...no fever, no vomiting...just busy, busy like his normal days! I think I'll treat him to Chick-fil-a since Jenna's craving it too ;-)

hail damage

Good grief! You wouldn't believe the hail we received yesterday!! I was out shopping with a girlfriend of mine and we were in Kohl's (my favorite store in the world). When we entered the store, the sun was shining and there was mention of storms coming much, much later in the evening. Well, I was in the lingerie area and my friend was in the toddler section when all of a sudden the music in the store stopped and we heard a "pop!" I was enjoying the music and I thought their sound system when kapput until the "pop" turned into "pop, pop, pop" followed by more and more until it sounded like the roof of the store was going to be lifted off!! I started frantically hobbling towards the toddler area to find my friend and we both darted to customer service (the safest area in the store) while the store's doors were locked and everyone ran around acting crazy. Well, the hail finally started to let-up somewhat and we proceeded to the front of the store to look out the doors. Golf ball to tennis ball sized hail could be seen blanketing the parking-lot...and everyone's cars :-( Before we could look at damage to the van, we had to run back to customer service because there were tornadoes forming right above the store!!! Finally, we were able to leave and venture out into the war zone. So many people had windows completely smashed, with gaping holes. Fortunately, the van was still in tact, but the wind-shield is toast...and the hail damage to the roof and hood is horrendous! I was going to post pictures, but I really don't want our sweet great-grandma to see because she gave the van to us and I know she would find it upsetting :-( We love you grandma...we're going to fix-up the van just as soon as we can!! Thankfully everyone's safe though and I haven't heard of any deaths or freak injuries anywhere, so that's a blessing.
